Thea Sahr is the Director of Programs for DiscoverE.
Thea Sahr has 25 years of experience producing national education outreach initiatives and messaging campaigns at such organizations as the Museum of Science, WGBH, and now at DiscoverE (formerly National Engineers Week Foundation). Thea is a successful team leader and creator of evergreen resources that teach science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts. A particular focus of Ms. Sahr's work is dispelling stereotypes about engineering and science, and encouraging girls and minorities to pursue STEM education and careers.
Liezl Perez Schewe is the Programs Manager for DiscoverE.
Liezl has more than a decade of experience managing programs and conducting outreach activities on behalf of membership associations and the U.S. government. At DiscoverE, she leads content and resource development for Engineers Week, Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, and the Global Marathon For, By and About Women in Engineering & Technology. Previously, Liezl taught at an all-girls high school in Saudi Arabia. She holds Master's degrees in International Affairs and European Minority Rights.
Gina Higby is the Program Coordinator for K-12 outreach for the Women in Engineering Program at The University of Texas at Austin
She works with high school recruitment and on-campus outreach programs including Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day, Women Engineers at UT (WE@UT), and WEP Engineering Ambassadors. Gina earned a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011 and is currently pursuing her MBA at UT Austin as well. She has worked previously as an academic advisor in Computer Science at UT and in International Admissions at UTSA before joining WEP in 2013.
